Even though the station is down until 6PM tonight, that’s not stopping the Sports Department from broadcasting tonight’s men and women’s basketball games between Northwestern and the University of Wisconsin–Superior. The games will start at 5:30PM, and while they cannot be heard immediately on the Remnant, they can be watched and followed live on the Sports Department’s Twitter at @remnant_sports.
The game will be broadcasted live from the scorer’s table on the Department’s Periscope account. This will be a unique opportunity for our listeners to get an inside look at the workings of our live remote broadcasts, while also giving them the same perspective as our broadcasters.
The men’s game starts at 5:30PM and the women’s game starts at 7:30PM. Once the station gets back up at 6PM, the games will head straight to the station and be live on the stream. For those who cannot get Periscope, a full rebroadcast of the games can be heard on Sunday.
This weekend are the final games of the 2015-16 regular season. Both games are significant for seeding in the UMAC Tournament next week. The men can clinch a share of the regular season title with a win, and the women need a win in order to stay alive for the number one seed in the tournament.
The games against St. Scholastica at 3PM and 5PM on Saturday will not be affected by the station’s maintenance. For all information about Eagles basketball, follow @remnant_sports on Twitter.
